Outsourced staff pay service

Payroll is both routine and vitally important – you can’t afford to get it wrong but, equally, not many businesses can spare the time to get it right. The easiest way to ensure your staff, HMRC and the pensions regulator are all kept happy is to outsource the job to experts like us.

The fact is, no two employees are the same. They may have different salaries, terms and conditions and deductions, from child support to student loans. Many businesses also run employee benefit schemes such as bike-to-work through payroll, adding to the complexity.

In addition, your PAYE scheme is also the vehicle through which HMRC collects National Insurance contributions (NICs). That’s another set of calculations and another job of processing that falls to employers. Your pay system also needs to be set up to handle sick pay, maternity and paternity leave and correctly account for paid holiday.

When you add pensions into the mix, things become more complicated again. Under law, you must automatically enrol employees into a workplace pension if they earn more than £10,000 per year and are 22 or more years old. Ensuring compliance is one thing; managing deductions in line with employees wishes is another. We’re very used to this process so it’s not difficult for us to administer but we know clients often find it challenging.

Our payroll service also includes the compulsory filing of payroll with HMRC using real time information (RTI), preparation and issuing of payslips and of documents such as P45s and P60s.
